Teaching

Teaching has been integral to my professional identity, shaped by growing up with an educator parent. I have extensive teaching experience across industry, community, and university contexts, with consistently strong student evaluations at UC Davis.

My teaching centers on empowering students to become independent learners who can tackle unfamiliar challenges with confidence. To achieve this, I employ scaffolded instruction that builds progressive mastery and collaborative learning environments that connect theory to practice. Whether teaching theoretical foundations, research methods, or technical computational skills, I design courses that gradually transfer responsibility to students: starting with structured guidance and progressively removing support so students must adapt, troubleshoot, and problem-solve independently. This approach prepares students to excel not only in course content but also in navigating novel challenges throughout their careers.
